Private Pilates Sessions

In the early 20th century, Joseph Pilates developed a workout system he called “Contrology”. Today we just call it Pilates. This style of mind-body exercise supports the movement and workouts you already love by improving your performance. It lengthens and brings balance to the muscles, strengthens your core, and uses functional movements that can be applied every day, fostering an active lifestyle. Pilates is a highly accessible workout, which can be done with little to no equipment, or in studio with equipment that adds resistance which helps you target deeper muscles. Appropriate for most ages, Pilates makes it possible for you to walk out of your workout feeling longer, taller, and stronger.

The MELT Method

Developed to create ease of motion, reduce chronic pain, and sustain lifelong indpendence and activity, Sue Hitzman created the MELT Method over 20 years ago, and has helped thousands of people live pain-free. Her four core principles are: Reconnect, Rebalance, Rehydrate, and Release. In addition, Reintegrate, and Repattern are the two components of healing and strengthening your neural pathways in the body from injuries caused by repetitive and compensating movements. For anyone who wants to proactively prevent pain, or who is looking to reduce or eliminate it, MELT offers a gentle way to engage the body in simple and lasting ways for results.

Private In-Person Sessions

If you’re in Portland, come to Mary’s private studio for a unique one-on-one workout experience. Receive immediate feedback on posture, proper technique, and habits to ensure effective workouts. The studio is fully equipped with all the essential large Pilates equipment, including the Core-align, found in large studios. Add-on opportunities could include time in the infrared sauna, MELT sessions, and you’re near the beautiful Mount Tabor area for a uniquely Portland experience.

Zoom Exercise Classes

For anyone interested from in-town or outside the Portland area, or with a crazy schedule, Mary offers private and group classes for both Pilates and MELT on Zoom! Whether you want the more affordable group class, or prefer the convenience of an at-home workout with experienced guidance, Zoom can be a great way to get moving in the digital age.
